Formed in 1997 with a sound of powerful and
overwhelming rock, they began to play several underground
stages.
In 1998, they recorded their first self-titled album "MAD",
and harvesting very positive critiques they obtained fair
radio airing.
Around that time, they were invited to play at several rock
festivals organized by the "Rock and Pop" FM radio
station and they recorded two songs for a 4K Record CD compilation.
In 2000, MAD was chosen to be the band for Eric Singer, KISS'
drummer, at his concert for the Kiss Exposition held in Buenos
Aires.
In the same year, one of the most important breweries in
Argentina, "Cerveza Quilmes", chose MAD to play
twice in the same year, as a headliner, in the well-known
"truck/rolling studio" in Mar del Plata City and
in one of their two shows in Buenos Aires.
In January, 2001, MAD played for 50,000 people in the Monsters
Of Rock Festival, with Iron Maiden, Rob Halford and Queens
of the Stone Age at the Velez Stadium.
They continued playing very often at Cemento, the Buenos
Aires' temple of rock and roll, offering perfectly produced
shows, consolidating the band as one of the most important
of the moment.
In the middle of that year they entered the EL PIE recording
studios to record "En llamas", their second album,
produced by 4K Records/Sony Music. Very soon, the first single,
"Pajarito on the rocks" became a big hit, for which
a videoclip was made.
In 2004, guitar player Nicolas Barreiro jumped into the new
lineup, and the band recorded its third album produced by
Adrián Taverna (Divididos, Attaque, Redonditos de Ricota,
Soda Stereo, Riff, Gustavo Cerati, etc.); "Seguí
la flecha" introduced a powerful, direct, and strengthened
band. From this album, several radio hits are born, like "La
rueda", "Imperdonable" and "El postre",
a song for which another videoclip was made.
In December, 2005, MAD played its first electric/acoustic
show, which was recorded in pro-tools, to be released in the
following months as the long awaited live album "Laiv
in Once".
In January, 2006, the band offered another powerful and well-attended
show at the Cosquin Rock Festival, by Lake San Roque, in the
Province of Cordoba.
In April, the drummer "Vasco" re-entered the band,
and "Gato" finally took control of the lead vocals.
Now, with this ideal lineup and an almost 10-year history
of a precise and overwhelming sound, each show of MAD is a
sample of pure rock.
In November, 2006, MAD flew to Europe for the International
leg of its "M10" tour, celebrating 10 years of rock
by playing at Madrid, Barcelona, Canary Islands, Paris, Bilbao
and many other cities...
On Abril 2007 the new live recorded album“LAIV IN ONCE”
was released ,and it was mastered in New York by Andy Vandette,
well known for his works with Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, U2, Motley
Crue, Pearl Jam, Tool, Bruce Springsteen, etc.
On June 2007, MAD was declared by the Argentine's Foreign
Office as "Band of Official Cultural Interest".
The band's management is English speaking.
